Lucian Hades was exceedingly bored. For most ordinary people, being allowed to experience a luxurious lifestyle of wealth and high status would be a dream to achieve. However, after spending the beginning of his lifetime being raised within the world of the Upper East Side, the charm and excitement was lost for Lucian. Which lead to yet another night alone, sitting on one of the bar stools, sipping away at his martini at the bar at 'Butter', attempting to liven up his evening.
Now that Lucian's high class lifestyle bored him to death, it was proved that once he had experienced everything in his own world, the excitement steadily decreased. When the boredom kicked in, the temptation of hurting and humiliating others for his own entertainment grew stronger. Seeing as boredom seemed to make itself at home tonight, Lucian was on the prowl for his next victim. After taking another casual sip of his martini, Lucian turned his head slowly from the bar and glanced lazily around the crowded room.
As he expected, no one caught his interest at first glance (it usually took him some effort to find a victim he could be completely satisfied with). The people he saw were the same money hungry high class people of society that surrounded him every day. He would not waste his efforts on people he could read perfectly well. What was the point of going through the effort when he knew for certain that he could find someone far more interesting and worthy of his scheming ways? A challenge was what he liked and a challenge was what he needed in order to gain the excitement fix that would be caused by someone else's misfortunes.
Lucian had schemed and humiliated far too many in the past to learn that finding the right victim took patience and a little bit of effort. Seeking out victims was much harder than settling for someone that Lucian felt had wronged him in some way. Although Lucian glanced patiently around the bar yet again, there was a certain desperation in his eyes. This desperation could be compared to the desperation you could possibly find in the eyes of a drug addict, searching for their next fix.
The stubborn man would always refuse to admit it, but it had become a pure fact that Lucian needed the misfortune of others to release the many insecurities that he had about himself. This was a sad fact that Lucian had become accustomed to over the years, after having no real role models to set him on a more kind and compassionate path. Lucian was like a monster that felt lonely and neglected due to his intimidating ways. Ways of which would be a miracle to change.
