jace kayle lyons
Goofy. Loyal. Oblivious.
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]Name: Jace Kayle Lyons
Nickname(s): Jay, Ace
Disney Character: Simba
Age: Twenty-One
Birthdate: June 4
Birthplace: Denver, CO
Orientation: Straight
Member group: Reluctant hero.
Education: High School – Graduated. College – Current Junior.
Occupation: Works as a coach at the community center – teaching skateboarding and extreme sports to hyper kids.
Jace stands about 5’9 and is otherwise quite lanky. He loves sports and has a build that proves this, as he spends countless hours running around burning his over abundance of energy. He’ll go the gym as much as he can, but often doesn’t have time for such, and instead relies upon his active nature to keep him healthy after eating countless amounts of sweets. He has a small tattoo on his left forearm of a raven, in honor of his late cousin Jude who loved the poem The Raven by Edgar Alan Poe.
His red hair is his trademark. As a kid, he hated the curly locks. They made him stand out and it seemed as if everyone wanted to make fun of him for it. But now, as he’s grown and matured, he loves his hair for its unusual style and wears it with pride. It has a mind of its own, the red mane, and he often can’t keep it tame so he’s forced to secure it back with a cloth sweatband or hat. Some days, he doesn’t even try to control the curly mess and lets it run wild. He’s not too worried about the way people view his appearance. He dresses in whatever his closet has to offer for the day – which usually means jeans and a plaid shirt or some vintage rock t-shirt he’s stored up over the years. He loves shoes, though often goes barefoot, and has a collection of shoes bigger than a lot of girls he knows.
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]Best Feature: Gotta be my hair. It’s a ridiculous mess, kinda like a bird landed my head and nested there. But I like it. It’s not a usual color and it makes me stand out in a good way.
Worst Feature: Totally my eyes. It makes me sad but I just don’t like them. Maybe they’re too small or something? I don’t know, I usually wear sunglasses whenever possible. I think it just makes me nervous to make eye contact with people. Yeah, maybe that’s it.
Something Memorable:Gotta keep dwelling on the hair. It’s hard to forget a crazy mess like this. I also like to think my style is kinda memorable because it’s pretty retro.
Jace is a goof. He doesn’t even realize how dorky he is half of the time, but it wouldn’t matter to him even if he did know. He’s laid-back and doesn’t like to let little things bother him, even if it does mean he’s a bit oblivious due to this choice. He loves humor and will take every opportunity to make people laugh, as it’s his number one way of easing an otherwise uncomfortable situation. He’s a fun guy and fearlessly dorky, but he’s also helplessly oblivious to the goings-on of those around him.
Loyalty is his strong point. Although he doesn’t trust people very easily, once he does trust someone he will be there for them no matter what is going on. He’s very devoted and his friends always come first. He values people and will never go behind the back of anyone he loves. He’s thoughtful and sweet, very nurturing to the people in his life. He’s also quite protective, which often means he’s spending a lot of his time watching out for others – which can get in the way of his life, but he doesn’t mind. He’d rather be sure his friends and family are being taken care of.
As an athlete, Jace is very competitive. He’s stubborn, but lacks confidence in a lot of situations. He’s the kind of guy that gets mad if he loses a game of Go Fish. He’s just that competitive. It makes for a fun game of anything, but also a tense one should Jace lose. He loves people and parties, but he doesn’t drink and won’t be the one providing any drugs. He’ll be the guy in the corner asking for Sprite and repeating “I don’t drink, thanks” until it sinks in to the party hosts. But that doesn’t mean he won’t have a good time. He’ll be the life of the party if he needs to be, he just won’t be drunk in order to do so.

Jace was born to a relatively quiet family in a small town near Denver, Colorado. He was the first of what would be two children for his parents James and Ramona. They were the couple that everyone in the town knew. James was a prominent doctor, and therefore, knew almost everyone as a patient. Ramona was a valued teacher in their little town and was the sweetest woman to ever grace the school’s halls. So by the time Jace was born, the entire city was already expecting him to be a perfect little boy. And, sure, Jace wasn’t a horrible child. But he was wild and spontaneous. The principal called the Lyons parents countless times to inform them of their son’s latest artwork via spraypaint in the hallway or his newest food fight in the cafeteria. Jace didn’t like getting in trouble and he certainly didn’t want to cause problems. He was just always so hyper and his attention span begged him to be in the spotlight. With well-known parents, he was tired of not getting any attention himself. He blamed this on the birth of his little sister. She was stealing all of the love away from him and he resented this.
Luckily, however, it wasn’t too long before Jace realized his sister was just as strange and carefree as he was and the two were inseparable. Alongside their cousin Jude, the three friends and family members never left the others’ sides and became the best of friends. Jace has never been closer to anyone. The three could practically read each other’s minds. They had plans, too. Great plans. They were going to start a company. Jace would be the director of film. Jude would write the stories. And Jace’s sister would act in them. It was the perfect idea. They grew up, went to high school, graduated, and prepared for college. Jace and Jude were planning on attending the same school, where they would be roommates and wouldn’t have to give up on their friendship. Jace knew he couldn’t leave home without Jude. But two years ago, everything changed. Jude boarded a plane to visit a family member in another state and he never made it home. The small plane crashed and Jude died alongside every other passenger. Jace was devastated. He didn’t think it was worth going on, let alone attending the school they were planning on. He struggled for a while but finally realized Jude would have wanted him to continue on with their plans and headed to college in honor of his cousin. He has a tattoo in honor of Jude and never forgets their friendship. Sure, he still gets depressed when he thinks about it, but he has to move on and he likes to think he is doing a good job at this task. Now he is trying to grow closer to his sister again. After Jude died, they grew apart and it broke Jace’s heart. He wants to go back to how it used to be.
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]Best Memory: Learning to skateboard. It introduced sport to his life and he's been on wheels ever since. He's an absolute adrenaline junkie.
Worst Memory: The death of his cousin Jude. This is the result of not only his fear of flying, but also his fear of being alone. Since Jace was not there when Jude died, he fears being alone and missing out on the last moments with loved ones.

Family relationships:
Sometimes Brayden sat in his room, on his bed, staring at the wall for what seemed like hours at a time. He wasn’t staring because he found the wall particularly interesting, nor was he a fan of the drab cream color it was currently painted since no one would let him go wild with a few cans of paint in his room. He was staring because he had nothing else to do. And with nowhere to go, nothing to do, and no one to see, the wall was a canvas for his imagination to think up a way to pass the day. Today’s wall offering: the beach. He tossed the idea around in his head for a few minutes, trying to decide if he wanted to deal with tourists and sunburns. But he convinced himself that today wasn’t a busy day for the beach-goers and the sun wasn’t going to be too much of a problem. The weather was perfect, and if nothing else, he could build the world’s best sandcastle. He’d been watching a show a few days before his decision to visit the beach that was a competition for sand-builders. They created some intense things, like octopus and four-foot-high sand houses. Brayden wanted to be one of them. Though he knew it was highly unlikely he would ever possess the skill. He’d be too hyper to harbor that much patience.
His decision made, Brayden rummaged around his room until he found a pair of swimming trunks. He wasn’t sure if he was actually going to go in the water, but it was safer if he dressed for the occasion. He threw on a shirt and slipped on some shoes before heading for the door. He was pleased to discover an unopened bag of Skittles on his way out of the room, and quickly snatched them up. They were his favorite candy, and it seemed as if everyone kept dropping off bags in the middle of night. He’d wake up and magically, a bag of Skittles was slid under his door. He wasn’t going to complain. He thanked the Skittles Fairy every night before bed. He popped a few in his mouth, walking to the beach. Thankfully it wasn’t too long of a walk, and he had a water bottle to keep him company. This would be the perfect time for a pet, he decided, so he wouldn’t look so alone as he walked around.
As the beach came into view, Brayden was relieved to find there weren’t too many bodies stretched out across the sand. He didn’t mind people, in fact he generally loved them. But sometimes he just wanted to mellow out and avoid the drama. He tossed his towel onto the ground and was about to sit down, content with his candy, when he noticed a familiar face a little ways up he beach. He couldn’t be too sure, since this person was looking at the sky and it was hard to decipher. But Brayden knew that when you’re best friends with someone, you can make out their profile from any angle. And he was almost positive it was Ryan. The thought made him incredibly excited, and he instantly picked up the towel and headed toward the mystery girl. When it was confirmed that this was, in fact, one of his very best friends, he caught himself smiling and very slowly walked up behind her. He noticed she was talking to someone, maybe on the phone? Upon further examination, Brayden discovered she was talking to no one, and he couldn’t help but grow more fond of the girl who was like a female version of himself – a goof.
He tiptoed, even though he knew his feet didn’t make any noise against the sand, and carefully laid down next to Ryan. ”Are they talking back? he asked, taking the same position as his friend, staring up at the sky. ”I had a conversation with a nice bird the other day. He fought in the war, it was rather devastating. But he was a kind old soul,” he smiled, of course completely joking. But that didn’t mean he hadn’t talked to a bird. Sure, he talked to animals all the time, never expecting an answer. He didn’t care if people thought he was crazy, he didn’t plan on changing his ways for them.
He turned his head to look at Ryan, hoping she didn’t mind his sudden company. ”Long time, no see!” he put on a more serious tone now, glad to see someone he cared about. ”How have you been?” He popped a Skittle into his mouth and held the bag out to Ryan in a silent offer.
