kingston oliver hart
discreet. dependable. deceitful.
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]Name: Kingston Oliver Hart
Nickname(s): No, thank you.
Disney Character: King of Hearts - Alice in Wonderland
Age: Eighteen
Birthdate: June third
Birthplace: Manhattan, New York
Orientation: Heterosexual
Member group: Minion
Abilty: Kingston can shrink himself to a rather small size, which can be useful in... um. Well, it's not really all that useful.
Drawback: As with all things, his tininess cannot last indefinitely. The time limit depends on how much smaller he makes himself. Also, there's a two hour cool down period. If he shrinks again in that time, he'll severely deplete his energy.
Education: Kingston's working on his last year at Collegiate at the moment.
Occupation: He's not exactly one for domestic service.
Kingston is not an unattractive boy. His face is a tad boyish and maybe he could stand to get a haircut, but all in all, there's something there. With blonde hair and blue eyes, he sometimes falls into the danger of being labeled a 'pretty boy.' Though he has tried and tried to develop some sort of semblance of gruffness on his face, he has only been able to develop a small shadow of a mustache, hardly the manliest facial hair option out there. Nonetheless, his slightly feminine features bring a little bit of charm to him.
The boy doesn't really have much to be proud of in terms of his form. Though he isn't a walking stick, his underdeveloped interest in sports meant that he never really participated in any activities that require strenuous exercise. However, he does have some slight arm and leg muscles due to lugging about filming equipment on a regular basis. Still, it's not exactly going to land him a bodybuilding title anytime soon.
While, he does go casual on occasion, Kingston generally prefers a slightly more put-together look. He has a high appreciation for neatness and minimalism, opting for solid colors with neutral tones. Once in a while, he'll throw in some stripes or, if he's feeling really crazy, a touch of plaid. He has a natural eye for color coordination and thus, will cringe at the variety of loud prints and clashing designs that are the popular youth trends of today.
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]Best Feature: "Oddly enough, I really like my ears. They are perfectly proportioned to my face, which is so hard to find nowadays."
Worst Feature: "There is a tiny crook on the bridge of my nose. People tell me it's impossible to spot, but I know it's there."
Something Memorable: "No matter how warm it is, I'll practically always dress in at least three layers. I think it shows personality."
Discreet
Though he is a rather social person, Kingston is quiet when it comes to personal matters. Sure, there might be rumors, but the boy just ignores them. He tends to take a different approach to social climbing, which is just to step back and appeared removed from everything. He's come to realize that all he needs to do is not be noticed. Yes, he does all the normal things teenagers do, though something about his method just makes it all seem ordinary. Any subversive or unsavory actions he does perform are set in such obscure fashions that it becomes impossible to trace them back to him.
Dependable
If you're in the inner circle, you can pretty much depend on Kingston to lend a hand whenever you need it. More often than not, this trait has been exploited. However, the boy doesn't mind being used and will often even volunteer to do the grunt work. He can do more than just work, too. Kingston can pretty much always been depended on as a voice of reason. Somehow, he always manages to see past all the accusations and rashness and get down to what's really going on. It's this talent that allows him to maintain an appearance of leadership in any situation.
Deceitful
Now, he's not a bad person. It's just that he acknowledges the fact that you need to be a little untruthful if you want to make it anywhere. Over the years, he's had plenty of practice telling lies. The key is to be specific enough to be believable, yet vague enough to be too difficult to confirm. He also never tells grand lies; only bending the truth a tad and letting it morph into whatever stretch of reality through the hands of the general public. He is very careful to be prudent with his untruths, though. The last thing he needs is to get caught up in a web of his own lies.

Positive Traits:
+ Patient: The boy has an extraordinary capacity for provocation. You can throw just about anything at him, and he'll stand back and smile and thank you as if you've just complimented him. The only issue is that it's impossible to tell if all of it just rolls off his back or if he's making some sort of mental note of it in the back of his head.
+ Prudent: Kingston is a fairly level-headed guy. He'll think a situation over before rushing into a decision. He also tends to be the voice of reason among all of the hot-headed teenagers of today. You can usually trust the boy to be prepared when you aren't.
+ Pleasant: Okay, you might hate who he hangs around, how he lives his life, and what he stands for, but it's pretty unlikely that he's ever done anything to you, personally. At least not that you know of. Kingston is incredibly careful about his personal relationships and seldom loses his temper, at least visibly.
Negative Traits:
- Subversive: While, he's not outright manipulative, Kingston does have a strategy for just about everything. Should something (or someone) throw a wrench into his plans, you can bet the boy won't stand for it. Now, his methods might not be as loud as others, but that doesn't make him any less dangerous. He's also not above going behind your back to change things to his liking.
- Spineless: Tense, face-to-face confrontations are not his thing. The truth is, he'll hide behind just about anything. Kingston will happily wait until he's a safe distance from any danger before he enacts any sort of revenge. It's amazing how little he values his dignity, really.
- Self-serving: There are very few people who will every truly receive Kingston's charity. He analyzes each decision in terms of their immediate benefits toward him and nothing else. Though he does many things in the guise of kindness, you can be sure that his intentions are purely egocentric.
Most intriguing quirk(s): Kingston has a tendency to close his correspondence with "By order of the King." It started as a joke, but has grown into a habit. It may seem silly to some, but the boy likes it and probably won't be changing his closing anytime soon.
Greatest Ambition: Despite, appearance, the youth is not really the ambitious type. Yes, he's been told he ought to be trying to follow in his father's footsteps, though these are really just vague objectives for the future rather than an actual goal.
Greatest Fear: Probably to be abandoned. His cool demeanor aside, the boy is really just that, a boy. He's spend his entire life following the words of other people and never actually doing anything for himself. He'd be utterly lost without someone to guide him.
Let's be honest, here. Kingston did not really lead all that interesting a life. At least by upper east side standards. His father isn't distant. His mother isn't sleeping around. There haven't been any drug, sex, or financial scandals surrounding his family. No one's cheated, lied, divorced, ran away, eloped, cooked the books, addicted, recovered, or even relapsed. And he's already the second child. If things don't fall to ruin with him, they probably won't anytime soon.
From his first moments, the boy has been pretty much pampered. After all, he is the youngest and also The Boy. His flighty mother cooed and showed him off to her socialite friends. His stern father patted him on the back whenever he received some sort of award. And both, of course, threw lavish gifts his way whenever they had the inkling. The boy was drowning in toys before he could even walk.
Nothing really changed with his days at school, except that his day was being filled with something other than nothing. His father informed him that he was expected to be the best student as well as the most respected. Now, Kingston didn't end up being the most exceptional student, but he good enough to be noticed, which is all you really need. He tended to oscillate between the top ranks of the class. Perhaps Kingston could've excelled far beyond his classmates, but the boy never really put any extra effort into his school work. Besides, by being less than perfect in his studies, the boy had the time to build up a social status.
It was probably a smart move. After all, he was going to be at the damned school for a substantial chunk of his life. If he hadn't secured a place early on, the boy would've easily been crowded out. There was really never much social climbing on the boy's part. Really, he just let things happen around him until he just happened to be the only one left standing. Of course, he didn't hurt that he had a sister who had already roughed the proverbial wilderness and left him a neat little path. Yes, it might not have been the boldest way, but it got the job done. Besides, his approach allowed him to be more stable, not falling into the trenches of social oblivion as easily as the rest.
Kingston ended up taking his passive approach to just about everything. He has rarely, if ever, done anything for himself. Though his execution has been exceptional, the boy's initiative has been rather lacking. His actions consist, in large part, of following the advice or expectation of others. Really, he's lived a rather borrowed existence for the boy, but he doesn't know that. He doesn't like to think about it.
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]Best Memory: "Well, nothing immediately jumps to mind, to be honest. After all, I have to admit, my entire life has pretty much been a party. Yes, well, let's say it was a party. The first party I ever attended with my father. It was a tremendous bore, I have to admit, though it was a pretty big milestone for me. I was introduced to many of my father's colleagues and made quite a few contacts that I'm sure will be useful in the future."
Worst Memory: "Ah, yes. It was such a long time ago, that I suppose I'm comfortable sharing this now. I was fairly young, still in grade school, I believe. I had been at the top of my class for quite a while now, and along comes this boy who had just moved here from Sri Lanka or something. He was two years younger than me, having skipped a few grades and, well, he beat me in chess. I start crying. Yes, I realize now it wasn't really such a big deal, but I was so very mortified that day; I was almost afraid to go home for fear that word would reach my father and he would disown me."
Top 3 life-changing moments:
- Entering school was a pretty big deal for Kingston. It was really the first time he had a lot of constant exposure to other kids. There were a few worries of how he'd react, though the boy swept those away after a year. Still, it was a fairly important time for the child.
- Losing his virginity. No, it wasn't the most glamorous night of his life, though it was most definitely memorable. Kingston was fifteen. It was some girl, whose name and face have long faded into obscurity. Luckily for him, society's double standard favored his Y chromosome and it actually became a boost to his social standing.
- At seventeen, Kingston took a yacht trip with his father. The isolation with his father gave them plenty of opportunity to talk. Edward informed his son of how he'd already planned out his life at that age and asked the boy of his plans. It was probably the first time Kingston realized that he had no specific plan for his life.
Family relationships:
Edward Hart: His father is one of the few people Kingston truly respects in the world. He relies on the man to guide him through life with whatever advice he cares to throw the boy's way.
Quinley Hart: Second only to their father, Kingston has a special sort of admiration for his older sister. He is quite willing to wait on the girl hand and foot, despite the fact that he doesn't seem to get much in return.
Cecelia Hart: A lovely woman, though it's hard to think much of the somewhat scatterbrained beauty that is Ceci. Quite honestly, the pair don't really know what to do with each other.
Blah, blah, happily ever after.
