CAITLYN Potts had well and truly caught the Christmas spirit. For a week now, her poor house-mates had been subject to just about twenty-four hour Christmas songs. It wasn’t all that bad though, since she had evened it out by also supplying them with a constant supply in baked goods. In her search for the perfect Christmas treats. After all, she couldn’t exactly let her Christmas eve and Christmas day menu be full of things she hadn’t tried. The mains were fine, she was using her mother’s recipes. For the deserts though and other little touches, she wanted to make sure she’d get things right on the day. This Christmas was going to be perfect. THIS year, she had taken it upon herself to become the Christmas fairy, and plan the three day festivities. Yes, she was going to stretch her Christmas from Christmas eve right through till boxing day. It was important. Or at least, Caitly thought it was important. Many of them were worlds away from their families. ‘Them’ being the assortment of people Caitlyn lived with, that had become her family. She wasn’t going to let distance from flesh and blood families upset her friends though. No. Miss Potts had a plan. A plan to bring together everyone’s childhood delights into one Christmas. It was a tall task, but she was up to it. WELL, at least she could cross one childhood Christmas wish from her list. Snow. The city was covered in a light blanket of white powder. With more promised in the coming weeks right up until Christmas. The smell of snow.. It was Christmas to Caitlyn. So it really didn’t bother her too much venturing out in the white wonderland. While most normal people were hurrying to their next destination, CP was taking her time. Breathing in the scent of ginger-bread from the near by bakery—and was that pine needles she could smell? She felt a smile tug on her lips as she added ‘real live tree’ to her mental list. AS much as she was trying to prologue her time outside, one could only walk so slowly and Caitlyn soon found herself approaching the toy store. No, she wasn’t buying for the children she cared for. Caitlyn Potts had ever intention of buying her fully grown, adult friends toys for Christmas. Not just any old thing though. Something that would remind them of growing up. Something that would make them smile. Something that was unique to each of them. Which was a lot harder then it needed to be. She had been subtly trying to draw things out of her friends ever since the idea had struck her. Some though, were harder then others. SHE was sure though, that in the end she’d work something out for everyone. She knew them all very well, and even if she couldn’t work out a childhood toy that would please everyone, she’d find a toy that suited them in their adult lives. The easiest, she felt, was Babette. She knew the blonde very well, and she had also been very fourth coming with her childhood Christmas memories. Then again, the same could be said for Noah. His present though was a lot more complicated. And needed to mean a little more then friendship. Yes, Babette first, she decided as she entered the store, veering upstairs to the female toys.

Tis the season to be jolly, that's what they say. But for Babette Devereaux, she was pretty damn sick of this whole Christmas thing. Well not really, she was just sick of the angry people in the shops. She loved Christmas, but she wasn't too fond of rude people. Her slender frame was clad in a leather jacket, a scarf, and warm clothing to make sure she didn't catch too much of a chill while she was out. She had spotted Caitlyn off on one of her little adventures, and what could she say, Babette's interest was piqued. She moved through the streets of the city, keeping a relative distance behind the girl. She didn't want her friend catching wind of her stalking. Was she stalking her? She had no idea, but she had no intention of quitting. Christmas was so important to her friend that it was hard to believe.
Of course, Babette adored Christmas herself, but never to his extent. Caitlyn was so keen on making the holidays special for everyone, it was almost an obsession. However, the cookies and other goods were hard to pass up. Babette was starting to worry that she was gaining a tummy with each bite. However, she was off now, watching her friend take her sweet time as she walked around in the snow. Everyone else was disgruntled by the white powder, but Caitlyn just smiled on. It was endearing and it made Babette smile herself.
The slender woman wondered how long she could keep this up before she had to branch off and head home. She had a shift at work tonight, and she didn't want to be late again. Besides, she had plans to have breakfast/coffee with Reggie tomorrow morning and she didn't want to sleep in too late because she came home exhausted the night before. Ah yes, Reggie. The thought of him made her chest tighten a bit. She couldn't dwell on him right now, it would only distract her from her goal. As she carried on, she noticed Caitlyn pause at a toy store. Babette paused, hiding a bit from her friend for safe measure. She sipped her coffee for a moment as she waited, wondering why she stopped. However, her friend then slipped into the store and Babette's blue eyes widened.
"Cherie, what are you up to now?" Babette muttered to herself as she moved away from the side of the building and made her way up to the store. Dare she go inside. That was a bit harder for her ninja abilities to handle. She pondered for a moment, gripping the coffee tightly before she forced herself to enter.

ONCE upstairs, Caitlyn was bombarded by pink. Whatever Politically correct phase was sweeping the world, it hadn’t struck the toy industry. It was actually pleasing that while she could no longer sing to the children ‘baa baa black sheep’ without seeming rather ‘un PC’, she could still pick out children’s presents according to colour. While she was never one to stop a child from playing with a toy just because of its gender allocation, she strongly believed girls and boys were genetically geared towards different toys. Sure there were always exemptions to the rule, but what was wrong with girls liking dolls and boys liking trains? SPEAKING of dolls, that’s what she was looking for actually. Not the plastic baby kind though. No, Caitlyn had another sort of doll in mind for Babette. Caity had heard that as a child, her pretty blonde friend had a rather impressive collection of Porcelain dolls. So what better way to bring back fond childhood memories for Babette? Weaving her way around easy bake-ovens and prams, Caity made her way towards the back wall, where the more breakable dolls were situated. Out of the way and out of little hands reach she guessed. Which was probably a good place for them to be. Little hands got very grabby in toy shops. BITING her lip, Caitlyn peered up at the dolls. Some were more modern designs with with crying, screwed up faces and wearing over-alls. They were cute, but Caity thought that perhaps something a little more traditional would be the ticket. One of the girls with the pretty painted faces and dressed on adorable dresses with frills and lace. There was one actually, that Caitlyn very much liked the look of. She was blonde, with a very pretty purple pinafore dress. It really just reminded her of Babette. The young woman had just picked up the box for a closer look, when a rather feeling lulled through her. CAITLYN was so intoned to Babette, and so used to getting her emotions towards Reggie wafting through her own brain, that it was rather easy for her to pick up. In fact, often times when they were both at home it was just a constant back-ground sensation for Caitlyn. Those two really needed to get back together. That though, was another story completely. Caitlyn frowned. The boxed doll still in her hands. If she was sensing the emotions, it meant Babette was in the store. Had she seen Caitlyn? Were they even on the same level? Questions buzzed about in her brain, as she stood frozen. Looking at the doll in her hands. IT didn’t really take Caitlyn long to work out the best course of action. Play it dumb. If she made a big deal, it was obvious she was doing something she didn’t want Babette to see. Then it would spoil the whole thing. Which would be bad. So casually, she put the doll back up on the shelf. As though it held no real interest to her. She then turned around, eyes darting around for any sight of the blonde. “Babette?” she asked softly into the rows of toys in-front of her. Not even sure if her friend was close at all.

The toy store was rather extravagant with all the toys that lined the shelves. It sort of caught the french blonde off guard. Her original mission was detoured when she spotted a little girl sniffling as she looked at a doll. Babette bent down to her level and placed her gloves in her lap. She looked at the doll herself before looking back to the little girl with a smile. The girl rubbed her nose as she looked at the tall woman that just appeared out of no where.
"Why are you so sad, ma cherie?" Babette asked as she refrained from brushing hair from her face. Babette was like this often back home, but she understood how the customs were in this country. If you touched someone else's child in public, they automatically assumed that you were a creepy kidnapper. However, she didn't like seeing a little girl look so sad.
The little girl looked away from Babette, almost unsure if she was supposed to stay away from strangers or if asking for help would be wise. She just looked at the floor before finally looking back to the woman. "I can't find my mommy." She said in an high pitched voice. Babette's face fell for a moment before she looked around a bit. She then turned back to the little girl and bopped her gently on the nose with her long index finger. "Well, we can't have that. I can help." She said and with that she reached down with her hand to the girl. She knew that it would be a smart thing for the girl to do if she ran from her, but she took her hand anyway. Soon, Babette moved through the story, her eyes falling on several women with packages in their arms. Then, she spotted one, looking a tad alarmed. "Is that her?" Babette asked the little girl and soon, she was running toward the woman. Babette watched the mother and daughter reunite before she realized why she was even here.
"Babette?"
Babette turned around just in time to see her dear friend Caitlyn standing but a few feet from her. Busted. Babette put on her beautiful smile and reached for Caitlyn, as not to appear overly surprised to see her there. "Caitlyn, ma cherie, I had no idea you were here!" She lied as she planted two kisses on both sides of her cheeks before stepping from her. Play it cool, genius, she may already know you were stalking her all the way here.
