jacob travis dodger
confident, carefree, streetwise
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]Name: Jacob Travis Dodger
Nickname(s): Dodge, Dodger, JT, JD, Jake. (He greatly prefers not to be called Jacob)
Disney Character: Dodger
Age: 21
Birthdate: April 1st
Birthplace: New York, New York
Orientation: Heterosexual
Member group: Hero
Ability: Mr. Feel Good – Dodge has the ability to make people feel significantly better, happy, and satisfied when they’re around him. He can convince people to see the positives of any situation, and is capable of putting people at ease. Sometimes just a simple smile from Jake can do it for someone.
Drawback: Making people feel good all day certainly has its effect on the young man. The more he uses his ability, which is generally every day, the more exhausted he is at night, and therefore he sleeps longer and deeper. Also, when people leave his presence, it has been noted that they tend to feel just slightly less happy than when they were around him.
Education: Jake has graduated from the Brooklyn High School of Arts and is currently not attending College or University.
Occupation: Dodge has been working part-time at Veselka for a couple of months, his latest stop on his usual job-hopping train.
Dodge would like to consider himself a pretty low-maintenance kind of guy, you know, the type that could get up in the morning and walk out the door. The only problem with that idea, is that he actually does take pride in looking decent, and therefore puts in just the slightest effort to be sure he doesn’t walk out in public looking like he was run over by a pack of dogs. His style of clothing reflects an easy-going mindset, and usually consists of very casual clothing. Most of his closet contains printed tees, plain jackets and sweaters, and a fair selection of jeans and sweatpants. He has also found himself to be quite a fan of wearing bandanas as some sort of accessory to his outfits, and has made it what some would call, a ‘Dodger signature look’. Dressing up in anything more than his everyday wear takes a little more thought and consideration to put together an acceptable outfit, and often requires an outside source of opinion. Though his attitude is very relaxed when it comes to style, he certainly has the personality and charismatic presence to pull off what he chooses to wear. When absolutely necessary, it has been said that he cleans up very nicely and looks rather polished in a suit and tie. One might even go so far as to say that he’d be a suitable date to an upper class party sort of thing, so long as you just consider looks alone.
Aside from the material aspects of his appearance, Dodger's natural side isn't so bad either. With a head full of short, slightly wavy dark brown hair, his eyes compliment his features in a rich brown color, often said to be the source of his charm. Certain special recipients of his affection have described his eyes as warm and rather comforting, and at the same time very intriguingly mysterious. While his crooked smile and soft complexion keep his face looking rather young, his jaw-line appears nicely defined for a guy in his early twenties. He seems to be stuck in a transitional phase of not really looking like a grown man, nor a fresh-faced teenager, which certainly suits him considering his interesting balance between adult and childlike maturity.
Standing at 5'11", Jake does not tower over everyone he meets, but he certainly isn't the recipient of any short jokes. His build is actually quite attractive to some, with the toned muscles of an athletic nature, and a lean, slim type of figure. With a shoe size somewhere between eleven and twelve, his feet may be rather average, but they come off as being large in proportion to the rest of his lower body, similar to the appearance of the size of his hands. As for memorable details regarding his appearance, Jake happens to have a few unique marks on his body, the most noticeable being a small, round birth mark on the right side of his face, just above his upper lip. On the unnatural side, the young man sports a tattoo of a dog paw on his left leg just on the side of his calf.
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]Best Feature: “I gotta say my eyes are one of my best features, you can do anythin’ with ‘em! Wink at the ladies, smile without yer teeth... play the puppy dog eyes, you know. And they play a perfect role in getting people to believe you’re being honest. Plus i’m led to believe that my eyes are a rather nice color, a Dodger signature, yeah!”
Worst Feature: “How can ya possibly think there’d be a ‘worst feature’ about me? I mean.. Yeah, I’m kiddin’. I aint a fan of my hair sometimes, it sticks up in places. But what can ya do? Sometimes I’m lucky and a cute girl will fix it for me.”
Something Memorable: A lot of people remember Dodge for his smiles. He seems to be able to flash a little bit of charm just by offering one of his infamous crooked smiles at someone.
Many people would consider Dodge to be a simple guy with a simple personality, and they rarely get to see that the young man can be considerably more complicated than most would assume. Once you get a look behind his laid-back, easy-going persona, you see that he isn’t just a guy looking for girls and a good time.
It is incredibly obvious that Jake is very confident in nature, and it certainly shows in all aspects of him, especially with the way he carries himself, as if he were royalty. Not only that, but he can come off as being rather egotistical, maybe a little more obviously than in other males his age. Jake can be admittedly self-centered, full of himself, and conceited at times, but has the social capacity to be empathetic and considerate of those close to him. Part of the reason that the young man can pull off being so confident, is that he is usually always full of optimism. You’ll rarely ever hear Jake Dodger throwing a pity party for himself or someone else, and instead will be the one trying to look on the bright side of every situation.
Considering Dodger’s always positive attitude, he is quite good at being able to cheer people up. Often, his friends will seek his advice, which he will usually indulge with some kind of carefree, positive life encouragement. There’s always someone in a worse situation, so why worry about every little thing? Dodge is a very carefree kind of guy, which makes for an essentially less stressful lifestyle than the rest of his generation. He doesn’t care what people think of the way he looks, acts, says, or who he spends time with, because it just doesn’t matter to him. If anything, people that judge him are only giving him attention, which is much more than he is giving them.
Living in New York for his whole life has made Jake a very street-smart guy, knowing all the ins and outs of life in the city, and knowing just what he can and cannot get away with. He’s always been a very independent guy, so obtaining the things he needs is usually not a problem. Sure, sometimes he resorts to the frowned upon method of stealing, but hey, it’s not like he’s ever stolen from anyone that couldn’t afford to replace what was theirs. Usually, he is very good at manipulating or deceiving people to get what he wants. In no way is Dodger one of the ‘break-and-enter, black ski mask and a weapon’ thieves. He likes to eat, and he doesn’t see any harm in taking a hot dog off someone’s plate when they aren’t looking.
One of the more memorable aspects of Dodger’s personality is his love of adventure. The young man has a taste for danger, and finds some of the strangest ways to entertain himself. He is very clever when it comes to solving problems and coming up with solutions to sticky situations, so usually he is able to get himself out of the trouble he causes himself. Unfortunately, trouble is not always completely avoidable. After all, what fun is it if you always get away with everything? That’s not a challenge.
Though Dodge is rather clever and intelligent, he’s never been a top achiever in his academics, and only barely graduated high school. His interests were never focused, and being lazy did not make him feel inclined to complete all of his homework or assignments. The one side of school that he was very skilled at, was the courses that required use of his creativity. He was always very interested in arts, especially music.
Not many people would ever see Dodge as guarded, but he certainly is so. The young man does not make permanent relationships very easily, because trust is something that is earned after a long time with him. He has a few very close, almost family-like friends, and is very loyal and protective of them. Due to his nature of being free and careless, the young man rarely ever has a girlfriend for very long, and blames it on his unsettled need for freedom. He doesn’t like restrictions, and every girl he’s ever considered a relationship has always been a fan of rules, which he breaks, of course. When necessary, he can be quite intimidating to those that pose a threat to him and his friends. He is quite a natural leader, and knows just how to be the top dog in a group. Nobody messes with Jake Dodger and gets away with it.

Positive Traits:
- Charismatic: Dodge is a naturally warm, confident guy who fits perfectly into the role of being a leader. He knows just how to treat people when getting them to do what he wants, or to trust him, and to make good decisions.
- Loyal: Once you earn Dodger’s friendship and true trust, you have his loyalty. He is very protective of those close to him, and will stick by his friends through anything. When he says he’d do anything for a friend, he literally means anything, even if he gets into worse trouble.
- Easy-going: Jake really doesn’t let much of anything bother him. Aside from those who mess with him or his friends, there are few people who can get under his skin. He is very relaxed, and rarely worries about meaningless nothings.
Negative Traits:
- Careless: Sometimes being so laid-back can get a guy in trouble. Since Dodge doesn’t worry about consequences, he often gets himself into unnecessarily difficult situations, and has been known to be the cause of problems for himself and those around him.
- Lazy: Dodge doesn’t really do things to the fullest of his potential all the time. Specifically in school, his effort was significantly lacking. What could be more important than being fully rested? Nothing.
- Defiant: Though Dodger can be considerably open minded at times, he is not one to follow rules. Instead, he breaks them, and makes up his own way of living. Some of the things he does are certainly not widely accepted by society, but he’s not worried.
Most intriguing quirk(s): Jake tends to say a lot of strange words, if you can even call them words. He makes up his own sayings, one of his most memorable being “Absitively, posolutely”. He speaks in a classic New Yorker accent, so sometimes people aren’t used to the informalities in his speech.
Greatest Ambition: Dodger has the desire to simply mean something. He wants to be independently successful in whatever he does with his life. Some smaller part of him dreams of someday being a part of a band, even if it doesn’t become famous.
Greatest Fear: Dodge relies heavily on his freedom, so to lose it permanently would be devastating.
Jacob Travis Dodger was born as the first child of Faith and Travis Dodger, early in the morning on April first, a fact that many family friends laughed off as a joke when they heard the news. Though his mother had gone into labour a few days before her due date, it was first assumed that the Dodger`s were playing an April Fool`s joke on their family and friends. That was... until people actually saw the healthy baby boy for their own eyes. Ah yes, a comment that Jake has had to live with for all his life. ``You were born on April Fools Day? You’re a Joke!”
The Dodger family was never exactly wealthy, but never impoverished either. Faith and Travis lived in Brooklyn for all their lives, and never moved out of the area even as they started to build their family. Their luxuries were tight, but still, money was nothing to worry about when they had a new baby boy to love! Jake’s early childhood was certainly filled with a very loving atmosphere, and though he wasn’t spoiled, he had everything he needed. Two happy, perfect parents.
Two years later, Jake was joined by his first sibling, his sister Holly. While his parents expected him to be jealous of the attention that was given to his sister, he was actually rather happy for the new addition to his family. Even from an early age, Jake had shown that he was truly not a very jealous guy. Even two years after his sister’s birth, when his twin brother and sister were born, there was no trace of envy in the young boy’s personality. What more could he ask for? He had a happy family, with three siblings to love and care for. Jake was naturally eager to fill his role as the big brother, and was always incredibly protective of his younger siblings.
Elementary school was the first time that Jake was introduced to a set of rules that he disliked completely. The rules at home were not appreciated, but at school, he felt utterly trapped. His early years in the education system were littered with acts of rebellion, and a lot of parent-teacher meetings to discuss his learning habits. He was just not made to sit in a desk and learn boring things like science and math and history all day. Instead, he showed an early interest in the arts, particularly music, which prompted his parents to send him to the Brooklyn High School of Arts when it came time. They were very respectful of his interests, but also encouraged him to show a little more obedience and respect in his other classes. All they wanted was for him to succeed.
Jake’s time spent in high school developed a strong interest in the opposite sex, and more importantly, sex itself. He was considered quite the ladies man, and found himself constantly distracted when there were girls around. Being rather incompetent with lasting relationships, he only had a few girlfriends that lasted more than three months. The young man wasn’t interested in losing his freedom just yet.
Even after Jake scraped by and graduated high school, he still remained close with his siblings like he had been for all of his life. He moved into his own apartment when he was nineteen, and has been living their ever since, hopping from job to job, making himself happy, and doing the things he loves most, which doesn’t include going back to school. He’s a single guy without a care in the world. In his words, It’s the life.
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]Best Memory: On the very last day of his third grade year at school, Jake got into a lot of trouble. Not at school, but at home, and for good reason. When you put up with a nagging old woman for a math teacher all year, one is bound to do something to make up for it, right? Well, at least Dodger was. Let’s just say Mrs. Grumpypants sported a flashy neon paint job on her Volkswagen that morning, and she was not happy. It was one of Jakes most spectacular acts of rebellion, which he fondly remembers to this day.
Worst Memory: The look on his parents’ faces when they heard their son may not graduate High School was devastating. It was more than disappointment and anger, it was a look of personal failure, and Jake could not live with making his parents feel like that. A great deal of determination and effort led to him actually being able to graduate with the minimum grades required.
Top 3 life-changing moments:
- The births of his siblings: The act of being a loyal big brother was laid out for him each time a new sibling joined his family. It was something that changed him, and solidified his protective nature over those he cared for.
- Graduating High School: His parents could not have been more thrilled to hear of the effort Jake had put into his last semester in order to graduate high school. It made the boy happy just to make his parents happy, and he learned an important lesson about the importance of having a high school diploma.
- Moving out: Moving out of his parents’ home was like a whole new lease on life, a whole new sense of freedom. Now he had NO rules of the house to live by, except his own. The perfect situation for a guy like Jake.
Family relationships: Faith and Travis Dodger: Jake is still rather close to his parents, and they are both still alive and healthy, living in Brooklyn.
Holly Dodger: Out of all his siblings, Jake is probably the closest to Holly, considering they are only two years apart.
Marty and Kerry Dodger: Jake’s twin siblings, four years younger. He is quite close to them, and very protective over them as they are still in high school.
